Precast Concrete Components

Our product portfolio includes most structural precast concrete components for building construction and civil engineering, in particular:

  • precast column footings with shaped inner surface to enable perfect connection with a cast-in-place column
  • precast concrete columns for single to three-story application with various cross-sections up to 80 x 100 cm and various lengths up to 22 m with corbels on all faces
  • columns with footing or head
  • girders and semi-precast girders (dimensions similar to precast columns)
  • roof beams and rafters up to 29.5 m long
  • lattice girder slabs (i.e. semi-precast filigran slabs) and wall panels measuring 3 x 9 m
  • three-layer wall systems for building envelopes, consisting of 2 layers of concrete separated by a layer of polystyrene, height up to 3 m, weight of 12 tons
  • straight stair flights including landings up to 170 cm wide or produced to order
  • not-prestressed double tee slabs (2.4 m x 12 m)
  • precast concrete modules

Reinforcement Processing

Reinforcement bars are bent and reinforcement cages prepared in our bending and reinforcement assembly shop.

Preparation of Precast Forms

The precast concrete works of PREFA Division have a fully equipped carpenter's shop adapted for preparation of steel form fill-ins. We also specialize in producing precast elements of non-standard shapes, which are produced to order.

Assembling Forms and Inserting Fill-ins

Forms can be assembled in both production shops (small and big assembly line), i.e. wooden fill-in and reinforcement are inserted into steel forms of the precast concrete element to be produced.
The production shop specializing in precast concrete building components has at its disposal two stair and four beam forms, a line for producing lattice girder precast concrete elements, nine forms for producing linear structural elements and six forms for producing panel components.

Placing Concrete

Concrete is placed from concrete skips handled with an overhead crane. Concrete is produced in our old concrete batching plant SCHWING STETTER K0,5 with an output capacity of 0.5 m3 of concrete.

Loading and Handling

Loading and handling of basic precast concrete elements takes place on the plant premises with two MB1645 gantry cranes, which are located directly over a road intended for trucks; these cranes also move parallel to a railway sidetrack running through the plant premises.
Large linear precast concrete elements can be transported by three overhead cranes directly from the production shop and loaded onto trucks.
